Let's face it, all 'celebrities' seem to have their ups and downs. Sometimes we love them, sometimes we hate them and sometimes we just love to hate them. Now Amy's certainly had her share of ups and downs and she may be a talented singer but would that really be enough to get you to buy her perfume? Her father certainly seems to think so.
According a story which appeared yesterday in the Daily Star, Amy's dad, Mitch, is keen to broker a deal with a leading perfume house after having reportedly already turned down a deal worth £500 000. Now the thought of a Winehouse perfume doesn't immediately appeal to me. In fact, a quote in the Daily Star article couldn't have put it better, "Frankly, she doesn't look like she smells that nice, so doing some positive publicity to prove it doesn't just smell of stale booze and fags would be vital." That said, I've been pleasantly surprised by some celebrity scents in the past so who knows.
Unfortunately the timing of this announcement isn't great (or maybe it's just clever PR to distract us) as Amy's currently in court for alleged assault. Given her fiery temperament and unpredictable behaviour I'd be very interested to see which, if any, of the big perfume houses would be willing to take a chance on her, and would anyone, other than her most devout fans be willing to try a little Eau d'Amy?
