It's been a while since the 2005 release of Hypnose, but Lancome is finally following it up with a new fragrance, Hypnose Senses, which is set to launch later this month with the help of a rather racy ad campaign.
Back again is model Daria Werbowy (she was the face of the original Hypnose) and this time we find her in a sun-drenched Parisian apartment in various stages of undress, what looks like naked for the print ads and wearing a skin-coloured dress for the TV ad. According to Lancome president Odile Roujol, it's not provocative but more 'Sunday morning'. Perhaps they don't want to fall foul of the US TV censors lest we forget the 'nipplegate' saga of Eva Mendes who revealed a hint of her unmentionables in Calvin Klein's Secret Obsession TV ad – the dirty girl – and subsequently had the advert banned.
Back to the fragrance itself, Senses is said to be more playful and optimistic, aimed at a younger audience and with a lower price point than the original Hypnose, ideal for today's women living in an economic downturn. A chypre fragrance, Senses contains notes of patchouli, rockrose labdanum, benzoin vanilla, tonka bean, osmanthus absolute, honey, pink peppercorns and mandarin essence and will be available as a 30ml, 50ml and 75ml eau de parfum.
