You may have heard this one before, the story where someone is rendered unconscious and robbed after being offered a perfume sample in the street. According to a report in the Halifax Courier, this urban myth has reared its head again as this time, home owners are accosted by would-be burglars with samples.
Firstly, let's just make it absolutely clear that this is indeed a myth. According to a spokesperson, "Humberside Police has received no reports of crimes that have occurred of this nature." Secondly, and maybe it's just me being too much of a cynic, but even if this were true, who in their right mind would answer the door to a stranger and sniff anything? I've certainly never heard of door-to-door perfume salesmen. Anyway, if you want to try perfumes, you're better off getting them from our perfume sample service – our samples are 100% guaranteed knock-out proof.
